Privacy Policy

In my counselling practice I comply with the General Data Protection Requirements (GDPR -2018) to ensure safety of the data that I hold about you.

I am registered with the IOC, the Information Commissioners Office.

​

In relation to accessing my website:

  • Wix may use software tools to measure and collect session information, including page response times, length of visits to certain pages, page interaction information.

​

  • This website is hosted on the Wix.com platform. Wix.com provides me with the online platform that allows me to promote my services to you. Your data may be stored through Wix.com’s data storage, databases and the general Wix.com applications. They store your data on secure servers behind a firewall.

  • When you contact me via my website, as part of the process, I collect personal information you give us such as your name and email address. Your personal information will only be used for the specific reason of maintaining contact with you. It will not be shared with any third parties without your permission being sought.

In relation to counselling sessions:

  • When attending for a counselling session, I collect data relating to your; name, address, DOB, contact telephone number and email. G.P details. I also keep brief notes of our sessions.

​

  • I only use this information to communicate with you and provide personal therapy. I will not use your data other than for that which you have agreed.

​

  •  I will not disclose or share your personal information unless I am under a duty to do so in order to comply with a legal obligation or to avoid serious harm to yourself or others including the safeguarding of children and vulnerable adults.

  • I will not retain your personal information longer than is reasonably necessary, after this period the data will be destroyed. This is 5 years after the cessation of the counselling relationship. Unless there is a mutually agreed decision to retain it for longer if I believe it to be in my best professional interest to do so.

  • It is important that you notify me of any changes to enable me to update your personal records held by me accordingly

  • If there is a breech in my data protection system I will inform you within 3 days and also what action I have taken.
