In my counselling practice I comply with the General Data Protection Requirements (GDPR -2018 and Data Protection Complaints 2026) to ensure safety of the data that I hold about you.

I am registered with the IOC, the Information Commissioner's Office.

In relation to accessing my website:

• Wix may use software tools to measure and collect session information, including page response times, length of visits to certain pages, page interaction information.

• This website is hosted on the Wix.com platform. Wix.com provides me with the online platform that allows me to promote my services to you. Your data may be stored through Wix.coms' data storage, databases and the general Wix.com applications. They store your data on secure servers behind a firewall.

• When you contact me via my website, as part of the process, I collect personal information you give us such as your name and email address. Your personal information will only be used for the specific reason of maintaining contact with you. It will not be shared with any third parties without your permission being sought.

• Relevant health and wellbeing information

• Brief Session notes and records related to your counselling

 

Why I Collect Your Information

Your information is used to:

• Provide counselling services

• Arrange and manage appointments

• Maintain professional records

• Meet legal, ethical, and professional obligations

 

How Your Information Is Used

• All personal information is stored securely and treated confidentially. Information is only shared where required by law, where there is a safeguarding concern, to avoid serious harm to yourself or others including the safeguarding of children and vulnerable adults, or with your consent.

• If I should become seriously ill and unable to work, you will be contacted by my supervisor to inform you of the fact and support you in sourcing alternative counselling support if appropriate. My supervisor therefore has access to a secure file which holds your name and contact number, for use if required. 

 

• It is important that you notify me of any changes to enable me to update your personal records held by me accordingly.

• If there is a breach in my data protection system, I will inform you within 3 working days.

 

Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access your personal information

• Request correction of inaccurate information

• Request deletion of information where appropriate

• Raise concerns about how your information is handled

 

Data Protection Complaints June 2026

If you have concerns about how your personal information has been handled, please contact me first, using the details below. I will acknowledge your complaint within 30 days and investigate it promptly and provide a full response without delay, keeping you informed of the process.

If you remain dissatisfied with my response, you may escalate your complaint by contacting the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) on ico.org.uk or calling 0303123113.
